Terms and conditions

This is an English translation for your convenience. In case of any difference, the Dutch version (algemene voorwaarden) applies.

2. When do these terms apply?

These terms apply to all sessions, readings, healings, ceremonies (such as the sweat lodge, Tantric Cuddle Ceremony and Mapacho & Fuego), trainings and courses by Joanne May. By booking an appointment, buying a ticket or signing up, you agree to these terms.

3. My guidance

• I always do my very best for you, but cannot promise a specific result. What you do with the insights is your own choice and responsibility.
• My guidance is complementary and does not replace medical or psychological care. If you have health complaints, always (also) see your GP or another care provider. Never stop a treatment or medication because of a session or ceremony.
• In mediumship, contact with a deceased loved one cannot be guaranteed.
• Are you under 18? Then I need permission from a parent or guardian.

4. Ceremonies and your health

• You take part at your own responsibility. Tell me in advance about physical or mental health complaints, pregnancy or medication that may be relevant. If you are unsure whether a ceremony such as the sweat lodge is suitable for you, consult your doctor first.
• Do not use alcohol, drugs or plant medicines in the three days before a ceremony. I may refuse or end your participation if needed for your safety or that of the group.
• Sweat lodge: always report heart problems or high blood pressure in advance. With serious heart problems or seriously high blood pressure, participation is not possible. Being pregnant is no objection; please let me know in advance.
• The Mapacho & Fuego Ceremony works with Mapacho, a sacred tobacco.
• You follow the instructions of the guide(s) and may stop or take a break at any moment.

5. Sessions: cancelling and rescheduling

• An appointment is fixed once I have confirmed it to you.
• You can cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the appointment.
• If you cancel later or don't show up, the full rate will be charged.

6. Tickets for ceremonies and events

• A ticket is valid for the chosen date.
• Can't make it? Let me know at least 24 hours before the start and you can move your ticket to another date of the same ceremony (subject to availability).
• If you cancel within 24 hours of the start, or don't show up, your ticket expires and the full amount remains due.
• You may pass your ticket on to someone else. Let me know in advance who is coming in your place; the same terms apply to them.
• Tickets for an event on a fixed date fall under the leisure exemption; the statutory 14-day withdrawal period does not apply.
• If I have to cancel a ceremony myself, I will let you know as soon as possible and you can move your ticket to a new date free of charge.

7. Trainings (Wisdom Keeper Year Training and Medicine Wheel)

• Your registration is final once the full amount or the first instalment has been paid.
• If you sign up online, you have a statutory 14-day withdrawal period. If the training starts within those 14 days and you want to take part, I will ask you to explicitly agree to that; if you withdraw afterwards, you pay proportionally for what has already taken place.
• If you choose 3 instalments, you pay the first on registration and the other two one month apart. All instalments remain due, even if you stop partway.
• If you miss a lesson day, you can make it up in a following group by arrangement.

8. Rates and payment

• The rates are listed on this website. The rate that applied when you booked remains valid.
• Tickets and trainings are paid in advance via the payment link. Sessions are paid directly afterwards, or within 14 days of receiving the invoice.
• Travel costs are added for a house cleansing.
• If you don't pay on time, I'll first send a reminder. After that I may charge statutory interest and collection costs.

9. Confidentiality

What you share with me stays between us, unless you give permission or the law requires otherwise. What participants hear from each other in a group or ceremony stays within the circle. How I handle your data is explained in the privacy statement.

10. Liability

I am not liable for decisions you make following a session, ceremony or training. Should I be liable after all, this is limited to the amount you paid for that session, ticket or training. This does not apply in case of intent or gross negligence. You are responsible for your own belongings.

11. Complaints

Not happy with something? Let me know as soon as possible via ja_may@live.nl or WhatsApp. I will respond within 14 days and work with you on a solution.

12. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms and all agreements with Joanne May.
